I entrusted Mitch to install 2 new furnaces to replace the 30+ year old units in my duplex property while away on vacation. Assuming a complete installation, it wasn’t until I went to swap out the filters the following winter that I noticed one was missing from the unit, only to learn much later it was inside the unit. Technically, the filter replacements are a tenant responsibility, but in this case I would not have expected them to unscrew the furnace cover and perform this themselves. In the time that I was unaware the filter was inside the unit, the system stopped working, of course on a cold winter night. Mitch made an emergency visit (something this Landlady hoped to avoid after purchasing new furnaces) and initially diagnosed the problem as the thermostat. He replaced the thermostat, stated the heat was working, and we left the property. He was paid. I received a call the same evening from the tenants the heat was still not working. Why did Mitch leave without verifying hot air was blowing from the vents? Since Mitch was unable to return until the next day, I had no choice but to spend more money on space heaters for the tenants and profusely apologize. Once he returned the following day, he confessed he diagnosed the wrong furnace, couldn’t believe his own rookie mistake, meaning the newly installed thermostat was not the issue. Instead, the faulty furnace was simply due to the inside filter causing the unit to be dirty/overheating - completely avoidable in my opinion. My expectation of 2 new units would be they’re installed the same and complete with all the necessary parts and pieces, in this case: external filter holders. Why an owner of an hvac company would not have called at the time of install and recommended the appropriate solution / potential upsell is still beyond me. The furnaces should also have been labeled respective to the apartment and were not. Mitch did not offer a refund on the labor/time of the thermostat but this did not sit well with me as you can imagine. He also didn’t repair the unit, but overrode the safety - intended as a temporary fix until he could return again with the part. After the weekend and a phone call, we agreed on a refund and he generously offered to install filter holders to make good on all that went wrong. Since he was booked for a couple weeks we were to touch base after the new year. Had that occurred, I would not be writing this negative review. It has now been 2 months, his phone number doesn’t work, and he hasn’t responded to my email. My concern now is a furnace operating without a safety in place at Mitch’s negligence and he has stopped communication. He might be a knowledgeable contractor but he’s a bad business owner.

Really grateful for Mitch for helping us in a short amount of time when it seemed like all hope was lost. The long and short of it is our heater broke and we needed to replace a part that was nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Everywhere else we called either didn’t have it, was overpriced or would be a 30+ day wait. We knew that was an impossibility for our family with the harsh temperatures as of late and upcoming. Mitch pulled through and ordered us a replacement universal part for a very competitive price. Day of. Really greatly customer service, professionalism and great response time and turn around time. Just fantastic! Thank you for saving us!
