My AC was running, but it wasn’t blowing cold air so I called Mills Air to come over and check it out. Luis was our technician. As usual with Mills Air they text me a A photograph of Luis and a short résumé of his service record. Luis arrived. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He identified the issue right away and after talking about my options, we resolve the situation. Great work all around. Mills Air is top drawer.

I will be happy to leave a review once I receive a invoice, receipt, and warranty paperwork for the part that was replaced. The technician told me on a Friday that I would have to wait until Monday for a receipt. I paid him on the spot and still have nothing from Mills explaining the work that was done or warranty paperwork. I called the office and have not received a response. I will be more than happy to update this review once I receive the paperwork that I need. This is my update. After leaving the first 2 star review within 24 hours I received a phone call from Mills customer service. A very nice woman determined that the email address on file was incorrect and that my paperwork had been sent to the wrong email address. She corrected this while we were on the phone and before the call ended I received the documentation that I needed. The issue was resolved in less than 10 min. I am changing my initial 2 star review to a 4 star review. My A/C is running great and no harm done.

I was a customer of Mills for over five years. My home was a brand-new build, and Mills was the company that installed my AC unit. Naturally, I continued using them as my service provider for routine maintenance, which was performed twice a year. I also took excellent care of the system myself by regularly changing the air filter and flushing the drain line monthly. In 2023, we experienced our first issue when the capacitor failed. We paid approximately $300–$400 for that repair. In 2024, the evaporator coils failed, and we paid over $4,000 to have them replaced—an unusually expensive and concerning repair for what was still a relatively new system. Throughout this time, Mills frequently attempted to upsell services and add-ons that were described as ways to help the unit “run more efficiently and last longer.” On one occasion, a technician poured water down the drain line and then attempted to charge my wife extra for using a shop vacuum to suction it out. In late 2025, our AC system completely failed. A service technician came out and told me to check the breaker. It had tripped, and he instructed me to reset it. After I did so, he returned outside, and moments later I heard a loud explosion. I went into the backyard to find smoke and refrigerant discharged throughout the area. I was then informed that the compressor had failed and that the cost to replace it would exceed $5,000. At this point, the system was just over five years old, which is completely unacceptable for a unit of that age. I contacted Mills to see if they would be willing to work with me in any way, given the age of the system and the repeated major failures. They were unwilling to offer any assistance. I then asked for a quote to replace the system entirely and provided them with the exact brand and model I wanted. Their quote came in just under $15,000. After shopping around, I found multiple reputable companies willing to install the same system for $8,000–$10,000. I ultimately chose another company. During the installation, they showed me multiple installation deficiencies from Mills that explained the repeated failures. Mills had installed a 2.5-ton unit in a 2,400-square-foot home, when the proper size should have been between 3.5 and 4 tons. The return air duct opening was cut approximately six inches too small, and the pipework and welding were substandard. It was clear the system had been installed as quickly—and poorly—as possible. I cannot stress this enough: do not do business with this company. You are far better off choosing a smaller, reputable company that takes the time to do things correctly. The only reason a system as young as mine would experience this many major failures is due to improper installation from the start.
